    obalt alloys have high strength at elevated temperatures and good creep and thermal fatigue resistance, so they are used for turbocharger turbines and aircraft turbines. They can be welded or used in electroplating.

    Cobalt alloys also are also used for prosthetics like artificial hip joints, because it is strong and lightweight and non reactive to body fluids.
