Chromium Carbide Wear Plate Composition:

Base material: Q235/16Mn (C ≤0.20%, Mn 0.30-1.60%, Si ≤0.35%); Composite layer: Chromium content 25%-40%, Carbon content 3%-6%, Chromium carbide (Cr₃C₂/Cr₇C₃) hard phase content ≥60%, with trace Fe, Mo, Ni elements. The composite layer is firmly combined with the base steel, forming a "tough base + hard wear layer" structure.

Features:
  • Extreme Wear Resistance: The chromium carbide hard phase has a hardness of HRC 65-75, which is 5-8 times more wear-resistant than ordinary steel plates, effectively resisting abrasive wear and impact wear of bulk materials.
  • Strong Adhesion: The composite layer and base steel are metallurgically bonded through special welding technology, bonding strength ≥350MPa, no peeling or cracking under high impact.
  • Balanced Toughness & Hardness: The Q235/16Mn base steel provides excellent toughness (impact energy ≥40J/cm²), while the chromium carbide layer ensures high hardness, avoiding brittle fracture of the whole plate.
  • Customizable Thickness: Composite layer thickness 3-20mm, base plate thickness 5-50mm, can be customized according to wear intensity and load requirements.
Limitations:
  • High processing cost due to complex hardfacing technology.
  • Poor machinability of the composite layer; drilling, cutting need special tools (diamond tools).
  • Not suitable for long-term high-temperature environments (above 600℃), chromium carbide will decompose and reduce wear resistance.
