Product Description
EB EB3551 Stellite 6 Cobalt TIG Rod & Welding Wire
Stellite 6 welding products overview Stellite 6 welding wire specifications Stellite 6 welding rod close-up Stellite 25 welding rod Cobalt alloy welding applications Welding process demonstration
Product Overview
Cobalt base alloys are available as cobalt rods, cobalt plates, cobalt wire and cobalt powder. Cobalt alloys are used primarily for wear applications and can be applied by any known fusion welding process or HVOF spraying process. These alloys are particularly well-suited for hardfacing applications and are the most widely used wear resistant hardfacing materials available.
Their unique combination of wear resistance, strength and corrosion resistance make them adaptable to many harsh environments. Cobalt alloys are selected for their excellent resistance to the widest combination of wear types including adhesive wear, abrasion, erosion, contact fatigue, thermal shock, cavitation wear, corrosion and oxidation.
Product Description
Cobalt-based surfacing wire welding is Co-Cr-W surfacing alloy with the lowest carbon and tungsten content, providing the best toughness. This alloy can withstand the impact of hot and cold conditions, resulting in minimal cracking tendency, with excellent corrosion resistance, heat resistance and wear resistance.
Applications
Mainly used in applications requiring high temperature work while maintaining excellent wear resistance and corrosion resistance, such as:
  • High temperature, high pressure valves
  • Hot shear blades
  • Hot forging dies
Surfacing layer hardness: HRC 40-45
Technical Specifications
Hardness: HRC 40-60
Customization: OEM/ODM services available
Welding Instructions
  • Protection gas: Pure Argon
  • Gas flow: 100-200A: 9-14L/min; 200-300A: 14-18L/min
  • Tungsten pole extension length: 3-5mm
  • Arc length: 1-3mm
  • Wind speed limit: ≤ 1.0m/s
  • Recommended: Argon protection on the back of welding area
  • Welding line energy directly affects weld metal mechanical properties and crack resistance
  • Remove rust, moisture, oil, dust from welding parts before operation
Note: Above recommendations are for reference only. For specific operations, conduct process evaluation first to determine the optimal welding program.
