- High manganese steel: 10%-14% Mn, 1.0%-1.4% C, austenitic steel.
- High chromium cast iron: 12%-28% Cr, 2.0%-3.5% C, with hard carbide phase.
- Alloy steel: Cr, Mo, Ni, Si elements for enhanced hardness & toughness.
Features:
- Extremely high wear resistance under abrasive conditions (ore, limestone, clinker, slag).
- Castings: good for complex shapes, high production flexibility, cost-effective.
- Forgings: denser structure, higher strength, better impact resistance, longer service life.
- Work hardening effect (high manganese steel): surface hardness increases sharply under impact.

Limitations:
- Castings: relatively lower toughness vs forgings; possible internal porosity if not properly produced.
- Forgings: higher cost, difficult for ultra-complex shapes.
- High chromium cast iron: high hardness but lower toughness, not for extreme heavy impact.
- High manganese steel: poor wear resistance under low-stress abrasion.
